The main purpose of the TECHrants site is to discuss current and upcoming technology and products. There are many up-and-coming products that are of interest, but could use improvement. And almost every product out there now needs improvement in some way. Here's my chance (and yours) to complain about these problems, discuss them, and perhaps improve upon them. Maybe the companies will be smart enough to use and implement these improvements. Maybe we can advance technology just a little further.

I will post my own writings, be them opinion, complaints, ideas, or a "check this out," on an irregular basis whenever I feel the need to write about something. But most of this site's usefulness will come from discussions that form in the forums. I encourage you to get involved, post your creative criticisms and other useful ideas. And who knows, maybe this site will take off. I'm just getting tired of some other sites that seem to miss the mark, or those that were interesting, but do little more than repost press releases.

Please keep in mind posting dates, whether it be on the web site or in a forum as information can change by the minute in this field. And hey, if you know someone who can do something about an idea or suggestion here, tell them to take a look.

You may also note (if not complain) that this site is pretty plain. With the current mess on most web pages these days, you need a gigahertz machine just to render them, that is if your modem can't download them in half an hour. I try to follow the Keep It Simple, Stupid method to make everyone happy. And then you don't need the latest bloated browser with fifteen plugins to read two lines of text either. I wish more people kept this in mind.
